Why Sell With ACES Online Estate Sales?

Online Estate Sale Auctions are among the fastest growing method of sale for Estates and Private Collections due to a number of factors that include convenience, reach, and potential for higher profits:

Reach and Accessibility: Online auctions have the potential to reach a much broader audience compared to a local tag sale. With online auctions, potential buyers from anywhere in the world can participate, leading to potentially higher demand and better prices for items.

  • Convenience: Online auctions offer convenience for both sellers and buyers. Sellers can offer large volumes of items without the need for scheduling a physical sale event. Buyers can browse and bid on items at any time, without having to visit a specific location.

  • Higher Prices: Because online auctions attract a larger pool of potential buyers, certain items may fetch higher prices compared to selling them at a tag sale. The competitive bidding process can drive up prices, particularly for unique or valuable items.

  • Enhanced Privacy: Online auctions benefit from enhanced privacy for sellers, avoiding major events that advertise the home address and bring foot traffic from strangers.

  • Higher Sale Volume: When items are sold to the highest bidder, materials move along! On average ACES Online Auctions sell more than 90% of all material cataloged, compare that with a typical tag sale that might only sell 50% of what is offered.

ACES Online Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do we work?

Everything is cataloged and photographed by your ACES team, materials usually remain in the home until the release day. Buyers pay for their winnings after the auction closes online, but before they schedule a time to pick up. ACES moves all items from inside the home to a pickup area so no buyers come inside the home.

  • How long does it take?

The short answer: anywhere from 8 to 21 days.
We can have an auction with several hundred items read-to-go in a few short days, then we publish and advertise the auction online for anywhere from 7 to 14 days. After the auction closes there is typically a gap of 1-3 days to reconcile payments and schedule pickups, then after the pickup day the project is wrapped!

  • What does it cost me?

ACES works on consignment basis and our commission is our only charge. All expenses associated with your project are included in the commission. This means ACES only gets paid when we sell items for you. Commission rates are dependent on the size, scope, and projected value of a project.

  • What do we sell?

Furniture, Art, Collectibles, Décor, Jewelry, Stereo Equipment, Patio Furniture, Tools and Equipment, and all manner of other personal property found in the home. If it’s not nailed down, we can sell it!

  • How are items priced?

All items are offered at enticingly low starting prices, usually less than $10. Low opening prices drive buyer interest and engagement and result in higher final sale values!

  • How do I get paid?

For ACES Online auctions, we pay (usually by wire transfer or check) within 14 days from the auction pickup day.

  • What do I have to do?

ACES is “full service,” meaning once you engage us for your project we can take care of everything. Your Auction Manager may ask you to help identify items or provide some history or provenance, but otherwise we can handle it all!

  • How are Auctions advertised?

Auctions are advertised to our mailing list of local-market buyers and are cross posted to online marketplaces, aggregators, and social media sites. A typical ACES Online sale has several hundred registered bidders.
